Funding to support the prevention of substance abuse and support mental health of children and families.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has invested $74.4 million into programs funding behavioral health changes for those most likely to experience substance abuse disorder. The funding will be distributed primarily through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which offers resources for emotionally disturbed children, suicidal Tribal youth, and the families that support them.
“SAMHSA is committed to improving access to behavioral health care services in America’s communities,” said Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Miriam Delphin-Rittmon. “This funding is a critical investment to help organizations in those communities to implement comprehensive, evidence-based strategies to prevent and address substance misuse and promote mental health.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Assistant Secretary Delphin-Rittmon to be let by the Lord as she oversees the distribution of behavioral health funding.
- For SAMHSA officials as they work to provide resources for children with mental and behavioral issues.
